The moment I saw the title of the film Eat Pray Love, I thought it would be an interesting film. However, the film told us a story about an American woman who gave up all she had and sought for the balance of life. Many people would hate the movie for its too much travel scenery, food shot, overreacted performance by Julia Roberts, and of course the 133 min length of this film. But from my point of view, I do appreciate the screenwriter who offered us such a meditative film.

I totally don’t agree with those who think the leading actress—Liz, is selfish and tiresome. As far as I can see, Liz is encouraging and brave. Being independent is hard for a woman, but he has the courage to give all up and make a change, so why we must live with unhappy life and insist on those oaths which are probably mistakes or unpractical?

Some people don’t have the confidence to lay down memories, nor do they have the determination to live for themselves, just because they are afraid of changing or losing something they thought important. They are worrying about the consequences which would be disastrous, and always feel insecure once we disobey the rules set by ourselves before. Nevertheless, if we are always afraid of difficulties brought by change, we’ll never step forward.
