hurricaneseasonwillhavelessactivitythan
themedian1981-2010season.
ThetropicalAtlantichasanomalouslycooled
overthepastseveralmonths,anditappears
thatthechancesofanElNiñoeventthis
summerandfallarerelativelyhigh.Asa
result,theyanticipateabelow-average
probabilityformajorhurricanesmaking
landfallalongtheUnitedStatescoastlineand
intheCaribbean.However,coastalresidents
areremindedthatitonlytakesonehurricane
makinglandfalltomakeitanactiveseason
forthem,andtheyneedtopreparethesame
foreveryseason,regardlessofhowmuch
