Abstract.Theinfraredisakeywavelengthregimeforprobingthedusty,obscurednuclear
regionsofactivegalaxies.Wepresentresultsfromaninfraredstudyof87nearbySeyfertgalaxiesusingtheSpitzerSpaceTelescopeandground-basedtelescopes.Combiningde-tailedmodellingofthe3-100micronspectralenergydistributionswithmid-IRspectraldiagnosticsandnear-infraredobservations,we ndbroadsupportfortheuni edmodelofAGNs.TheIRemissionofSeyfert1sand2sisconsistentwiththeirhavingthesametypeofcentralengineviewedatadi erentorientation.Thenatureoftheputativetorusisbecomingclearer;inparticularwepresentevidencethatitislikelyaclumpymedium.Mid-infraredcorrelationsbetweentracersofstarformationandAGNionizingluminosityrevealthestarburst-AGNconnectionimpliedbytheblackhole/bulgemassrelation,howeveritisnotyetclearifthisisduetofeedback.
