This term I will read this novel—ROBINSON CRUSOE, written by Daniel Defoe. Daniel Defoe was a novelist and editor of English. He was ever called the father of English novel and literary newspaper. He was born in a religious family in London. His father was a small oil candle businessman. Defoe’s parents hoped that he could become a churchman, but instead he did sea business, regardless of his father’s persuasion. Later, he devoted to doing sea business. His career was up and down. Sometimes he would be arrested at terrible time or was appreciated by Kingdom. In 1719, when he was 59 years old, he began to write his first novel-ROBINSON CRUSOE, which made him to be famous.

This novel can be divided into three parts: the life of Robinson before his island life; the life of living in an island for 28 years, and experience after his leaving island.

These four weeks, I read the first part—the life of Robinson before his island life.

In this part, Robinson’s father, who was very feudalism, had given him a competent share of Learning, as far as House Education, and a Country Free-School generally goes, and designed him for the Law; but he would be satisfied with nothing except going to sea, and his Inclination to this point led him so strongly against the will, nay the Commands of his father, and against all the Entreaties and Persuasions of his mother and other friends.

One day, he met a boy and went to London by that boy’s father’s ship. They met storm at his first time to go to sea. And Robinson began to regret for regardless of his father’s advice. He thought he would go home as long as he survived at this time. But after the storm, he forgot all his words. So he began another voyage after this time. And this time he met a captain and he did business with the help of the captain and earned a lot of money. But later, he disliked the normal life again. So he began the third time to sea. But this time, he has become a servant for a few years by accident. Then he escaped from that place.
