havechallengedmanyacceptedmodels.Someofthehighlightsinclude:anearlycompletecensusofallthemillisecondpulsarsin47Tucanae; rstdetectionsofmanynewradiopulsarsinotherclusters,particularlyTerzan5;detailedstudiesofX-raybinarypopula-tionsandtheirluminosityfunctionsinmanygalaxiesandextragalacticglobularclusters;increasingevidenceforintermediate-massblackholesinclustersandgreatlyimprovedtheoreticalunderstandingoftheirpossibleformationprocesses.

Thenextfewyearswillproveatleastasexciting,withmanymoredatasetscomingfromrecentlyorsoon-to-belaunchedsatellites,manynewobjectsfoundinextensivedeepradioandX-raysurveys,andfollow-upspectroscopyandphotometrywithopti-caltelescopes.Onthetheoreticalside,advancesincomputercodesandspecial-purpose
